PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Dr Rickard Abom is an environmental conservation professional and science communicator with a Ph.D. in Conservation Biology and a double Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Zoology from James Cook University, he brings rigorous scientific grounding to his work across marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Leading multi-million-dollar conservation programs on the Great Barrier Reef, tropical savanna's and wet tropics catchments with peer reviewed published research and reflects a career committed to practical conservation outcomes and evidence-based management.
As a CASA-certified drone pilot, he applies UAV-based mapping to habitat assessment, invasive species monitoring and biodiversity surveys across landscapes that are difficult to access by traditional means. His photography spans both underwater and terrestrial and is grounded in direct field experience as an experienced scientific diver, ecological researcher and as a natural resource manager.
